UFC Flyweight Nadia Kassem has been released from the UFC after a less than stellar stint with the organization. ‘187’ has left the company with a record of 5-2. Her UFC record will stay at 1-2 for the time being. Coming off two straight losses to Montana de la Rosa and Je Yeon Kim meant the end for Kassem.
Not to mention, she was finished by submission and KO respectively in both her aforementioned UFC losses. Along with her in-cage performances, she hasn’t remained active in the always bustling 115-pound division. She hadn’t yet competed throughout 2020. Moreover, she was out of the octagon throughout 2018, thus halting the early career momentum she generated.
Additionally, the UFC has parted ways with heavyweight slugger Ben Sosoli and Dequan Townsend. Sosoli was sentenced to 22-months in Jail in Melbourne after pleading guilty to punching a man outside a bar. On the other hand, Townsend recently continued his disappointing losing streak when he was KO’ed by Dusko Todorovic over the last weekend.

UFC: Moving on ahead
The largest MMA organization in the world constantly aims to churn out exciting fights for the fans and discover talent. The organization is always on the look-out for the next big star who can take the company to new heights. Fighters such as Israel Adesanya, and most recently Khamzat Chimaev, have come along and grabbed the public’s attention.
In line with their focus on retaining only the ‘best of the best,’ it’s clear that the aforementioned fighters didn’t fit the bill. Fighters heading into skids often find themselves with their back against the wall. High-profile fighters such as Donald Cerrone and Edson Barboza who are on considerable skids would get the same treatment. The star power and fan-favorite aspect to a fighter play a role in the longevity of their UFC run.
Not to mention, along with the focus on fighters, the UFC look at novel ways to expand their brand. Their wildly successful venture to Fight Island has been a fruitful enterprise for the company. Not to mention, they have already begun their second five-week-long trip to Fight Island.
